BC Transit, how does it work?

Kamloops is on of the cities in the territory known as British Columbia. This It is home of approximately 104, 810 people that practice two principal activities, working and studying. The population is usually needed to move around, and they use different forms of transportation such as walking, driving, biking, or using the bus. This blogpost is going to focus on the last method that we mentioned. We are going to explain everything that you must know if you except to take it in any moment of your life.

For the adults, one ticket to ride on the bus worth $2.00, and if you are expecting to take more than one ride in a day, you can buy the day pas for $4.00. It is also important to underline that you a buy 10 tickets for $18.00, or the monthly pass for $50.00. This last option is the most recommended one if you are going to be a typical bus rider. On the other hand, if you are a Senior (more than 65 years old) you would be able to buy the monthly pass for $30.00. The TRU students also have especial prices that are helpful for the people who just got to Kamloops. The university students have access to the U-PASS, that cost $55.48 for a semester. Furthermore, the kids between 6 to 12 have free entrance for the BC Transit system.

Subsequently, you are probably asking where to buy or get these passes. If you want to buy a daily pass, 10 tickets paper, or monthly pass, you have different locations across Kamloops such as Aberdeen Mall, Bookstore TRU, Cash Stops Loans INC., Oak Hills One Stop, Safeway, Save-On-Foods, Shoppers drugs, and TK’EMLUPUS Petro-Canada. If you are a student, you only need to get you Student ID at the university. For getting this documentation, you must send a selfie to selfie@tru.ca with you student number.

Second, there are a lot of routes and hours that this buses work around Kamloops, and you are probably close to one of their stops. The buses are distributed around the city with number with their destination at the front part of the vehicle. The buses are 1 Tranquille, 2 Parkcrest, 3 Westsyde, 4 Pacific Way, 5 Pineview, 6 Downtown Loop, 7 Aberdeen, 9 Glenagles, 10 North Shore TRU Express, 13 Yellowhead, 14 Batchelor Heights, 16 Juniper Ridge, 17 Dallas, and 18 Mt. Paul. Along with, you get the schedule from the official BC Transit app, that is called Transit, or you can print the schedule from the rider’s guide that you can get access to from this link (https://www.bctransit.com/documents/1529715283838 ). This also shows where the closest stop is that you can take for getting to your destination. Besides, there are some stops around the map called “exchanges”, and this where some of the buses stops, so if you are expecting to take more than one bus to get to the place you want, you should stop in one of the exchanges. Their names are TRU exchange, Landsowne exchange, and North Shore exchange.

Apart from this, if you have any question or concern about the transportation, you can get to the BC Transit offices. This is the place where the Buse’s staff works at, and it is the place where the buses are parked while they are not on operation. Also, you can find there the old buses that were used before the current ones.
